Jun 5 2010	MEAF Annual General Meeting

Jun 3 2010	Cannon Hill Park Picnic MEAF organised an outdoor activity as part of the implementation of the Learning together for a better future project aiming to bring children and parents together and through participation of children in play to develop language and physical skills, as well as to develop their socialising skills. The activity marked the celebration of the Children s Day in Albania and Kosova. The participants, eleven adults and eighteen children, enjoyed the cheerful atmosphere at the park and the kind warm weather. Children took part in several games organised such as the garden parachute games, football, and bouncing castle. The event was enabled partly by the grant awarded by the Grassroots Funders and by parents financial contribution. The success of the activity was proved by children s and parents positive comments and their suggestions that more activities event of this kind need to be organized in the future by MEAF.

May 22 2010	Visit to Sea life Centre in Birmingham MEAF organised a visit to the Sea life Centre As part of the Learning together for a better future programme. Children who attended Albanian Supplementary Classes and several parents visited the centre. The purpose of the visit was to develop children s learning through participating in outside activities and to give children the opportunity to explore sea life and make learning more fun and creative. The activity was made possible with the funding awarded by the Grassroots Funders and parents individual contribution. Children had the opportunity to see a range of sea creatures and identify them in both languages. Furthermore, the children had the opportunity to experience the advantages of a 4-d documentary, which was described to be exciting, different and fun. They also had the opportunity to play in the soft play area at the centre which was just as pleasing.

Nov 28 2009	11 Years - MEAF Celebrates Flag Day On Saturday, 28th November 2009, for the 11th year, MEAF successfully organised, Albanian Flag Day celebration. This event brought together to celebrate, people from many parts of the Midlands such as: Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Derby and Staffordshire. We were delighted to have with us our Guest of Honour - Mr. Myzafer Alushi and Mrs. Alushi from The Albanian Embassy in the UK. IOM representatives and many more. Mr. Dema, at his opening speech, welcomed everyone to the Flag Day and thanked all members of the MEAF Team for their great contribution in organising this event. He praised MEAF Supplementary School Teachers and volunteers for their very good work with children during this year and wished them every success with teaching in the future. Albanian Orchestra lead by Mr. Blerim Bajrami entertained all participants with some traditional Albanian music, dance and songs. Mr. Zirak Hamad – gave a short presentation expressing his delight to be with us and played a traditional Kurdish drum in honour of this event.

Kryetari i MEAF takohet me Shkelqesine e Tij z. Zef Mazi - Ambasador I Republikes se Shqiperise ne Mbreteine e Bashkuar.

Sep 19 2009	MEAF start of Supplementary School On September 2009 MEAF started its Albanian classes for the school year 2009 - 2010. Our Teachers Orjeta Kolonja and Eriola Prifti together with MEAF volunteers Elmira Kavoli and Nertila Aliaj welcomed children and their parents to MEAF School. These classes will be running every Saturday from 10.30 -1.30 p.m. During this time parents with the assistance of MEAF volunteers will be involved in organising a playgroup with varies activities for them. We are looking to register more participants on this project and to join it please telephone 0121 622 22 33 or email info.meaf@gmail.org.uk. This project is supported by Digbeth Trust.

Zef Mazi erdhi ne Universitetin e Birmingham - it per te mbajtur nje leksion me teme: Pavaresia e Kosoves nen Ligjet Nderkombetare. Z. Mazi gjate prezantimit te Tij u perqendrua ne ligjshmerine e Pavaresise se Kosoves duke e ilustruar ate me kuota te ndryshme nga experte dhe profesore per Ligjet Nderkombetare si dhe Kombet e Bashkuara. Pjesemarresve ju dha rasti ti drejtoheshin Ambasadorit me pyetje te ndryshme ne lidhje me kete teme. Te pranishmit e falenderuan Ambasadorin me nje duartrokitje te fuqishme per prezantimin e tij te shkelqyeshem. z. Dritan Dema ( Kryetar i MEAF - it ) dhe Zj. Orjeta Kolonja ( Mesuese e MEAF-it) falenderuan Dr. Gezim Alpion per ftesen e bere per kete takim.
